a wild adventure

My journey to Alaska was the furthest north I have been in my life so far. My family and I choose to embark on this adventure to explore what Mother Nature has to truly offer. This two-week journey led us from the shores of Kenai Fjords to the heights of Denali mountain.

Kenai Fjords

The first leg of our adventure was on the sea aboard the Kenai Fjord Tours. It was an exciting day as we spotted several creatures, including sea lions, walruses, dolphins, puffins, otters, and, most spectacularly, a humpback whale breaching the surface.

The next day we traveled northeast to Whitter, Alaska to admire the town and set off on another glacier tour. We encountered cute sea lions, walruses, and otters floating together in rafts.

Russian Falls

The next stretch of our explorations took us inland to the Russian Falls to watch salmon jump upstream on the Russian River.

Lake Clark National Park

After visiting the falls, we made our way down to Homer and rested at the Land's End Resort. The next day we charted a flight with J Bear Tours and our pilot landed us on a beach in Lake Clark National Park and Preserve. We were lucky to spot two young brown bear cubs shelling for clams on the shore just a small distance from our plane. We later spotted a mama bear and her two cubs nearby. On our return flight, we were fortunate to make one more stop and found another bear grazing in a beautiful field of grass. It was a spectacular experience getting up close and photographing these magnificent animals.

Denali

The final leg of our adventure took us to the peaks of Alaska at the Denali National Park where we explored the surrounding lands and looked for moose grazing in the brush. The beautiful sight of Denali in the background was the perfect way to wrap up our first Alaskan trip. We look forward to coming back in the future and continuing to explore what nature has to offer.
